avic n3 won’t power on

Hey,

I just got a used n3. I tried hooking it to my car and the unit will not power on, but i do get the red blinking l.e.d under the faceplate.

does the nav have to be installed also? i just tried powering on the h/u to make sure everything works, but i can't get it to power on???

I connected the power and red wire to +12 and the black to ground. Is there something im forgetting?

Nevermind! solved my problem... the brain has to be connected.
