I have the pioneer avh-p7480dvd and want a rear view backup camera. I know that I am able to wire one as a normal source but I wanted that source to comeone automatically wheni go into reverse. Is there anyway to do that (without spending a fortune or heavily modifying the internals of the Pioneer?

no there is no way to have more than just the camera to come on i mean you can make the camera come on but you cant make the headunit turn to the video in section automatically. you have to turn that section on that put the car into reverse for the camera on.
