I've been looking at tv tuners, no major brands in car audio seem to make one? Is there one out there worth putting in a ride?

Thanx

But arent TV Tuners going to be useless with no more analog signals being sent out and everyone going digital?

The only digital tuner I have seen is the Power Acoustic "Farenheit" line.  We have not installed one yet.  It has a great picture on the soundboard.  I am kind of concerned with how it does in motion.  When we install it, I will let you know how it does.

The reason I am thinking that there is going to be a problem in motion, is the fact that none of the big names have made one yet.  They will not put one out if it is not up to par.  Power Acoustic has nothing to lose by releasing a product that is not phenomenal.

The new TV system ATSC does not work when moving. The older NTSC was OK at best but still pretty bad.

There is a new system called ATSC Mobile that is being developed but will be a ways off. I have tested several ATSC tuners and some do work when sitting still, but you must "scan" for channels each and every time you move and stop the vehicle. Also the antenna tends to be very directional as well. NON work at all when moving. And it is now illegal for any company to import a product into the US with an NTSC tuner in it. Besides nothing transmits on that band anymore.

There is a new system being released in late October from QUALCOMM and Audiovox called FLO TV, it will include a small antenna about the size of a first gen XM antenna and a small tuner control box. The system will get about 25 network stations including things like ESPN, FOX, and so on. This will be a subscription service and is based on the same system Verizon uses for their VCast service. There will be limitations on reception areas at first, but they say it will grow like cellular did. This actually transmits on a NSTC signal from UHF Channel 55, so it should work pretty well.
