Have same Brand & Model 10.4 Flip Downs with built in DVD's in 2009 Ford Expedition.
Front Flip Down interferes with Rear Flip Down on I/R Heaphones.
Causes a bad "squeal".
Turn off Rear Flip Down Noise goes away & can listen to Front Flip Down.
Turn Off Front Flip Down & turn On Rear Flip Down, Noise goes away & can listen to Rear Flip Down.
Question is:
How to block or be able to operate Front & Rear at the Same time using I/R Headphones??

Any HELP is greatly appreciated..........

If the IR is not defeatable via the menu, and there is a particular unit you want to work, we disassemble the unit and either remove the ILEDs or cut a trace on the circuit board that feeds them.

hi,

or see if transmitting frequency of i/r emitters is switchable/selectable.  myron and davis used to have i/r emitters (for their headrest units) that were on a small circuit board...and available on channel a or b.  then you'd use dual source headphones.  or disable both sets and use a separate dual channel emitter setup.

Thank you for the info.........really appreciate it

Want to keep the Front Unit I/R & was going to try a different I/R Channel for the Rear, but have been told that I/R will still cause problems with signals.
So, have ordered RF type Transmitter & Headphones to connect to the Outputs of Rear Unit.
Believe it or not, the Manufacturer tells me to "break" the I/R bulbs in Rear Unit...!!!!
Will try to cut wires or scratch PCB I/R Rear Unit & use RF for Rear.........
Sounded so simple, but has turned into a bummer

If you break the LEDs, that is pretty much unreversible.   Cutting the trace will be a much better option for you.

We simply put tape over the IR's inside the plastic cover. You can't see it and is totally reversable....

Blackmore Mobile used to offer a daul channel IR transmitter exactly for that problem. Their overheads also all had dual channel selectable outputs as well. Haven't used them in a while but might be worth a call.
