Sorry to be asking such a basic question, but...

I'm installing a Pioneer AVIC-N2 removed from my old CR-V into my new(er) 2006 CR-V.

I've already searched out the various required wires so I'm not asking about the VSS, parking brake, or reverse wires. What I need are recommendations on where to mount the hideaway unit.

In the old CR-V (2000) it was placed under the front passenger seat. There does not appear to be enough room in the '06. While there is room under the driver seat, there does not appear to be a large enough flat surface.

Help from anyone with experience installing after-market navs into this vehicle is greatly appreciated.

Set the unit under the drivers seat and measure the distance from the unit to the floor of the vehicle at the mounting holes.  Go to a hardware store and get them to cut some copper tubing to your desired length, and purchase screws long enough to make it through the floor.  Check under the vehicle before running your screws through the floorpan.
