I have a 93 deville and I want to make my stereo hidden so I came up with this idea. I'm going to throw my aftermarket HU in the trunk and have it wired to the computer. Wiring to the computer isn't the problem because my radio (jvc kd-adv6270) has a aux input. The problem is how can I get the radio to be controlled from the front seat if I have it in the trunk. I have a remote that works with the radio but to get it to work from the trunk? Hmmm or does anyone have a alternative to this situtation, or a solution.

Pac-audio.com makes an infrared repeater that is made for your exact application.

Thanks I'm going to check out that url. So you think its a shot on the hu relocation or should I be like everyone else and put it in the dash. I was also thinking of voice command for the computer however computers take forever to boot up and shut down. I was thinking of using a secondary battery so the computer can be in sleepmode when the car is off. So correct me if I'm wrong computer-invertor-secondary battery-primary battery. Thanks for all your help so far.

Yes I use the Alpine factory remote.  There is an infrared receiver that is mounted under my handlepar.  There is an infrared transmitter that is mounted in view of the remote sensor on the face of the alpine radio.  Whatever signal the receiver gets from the remote, is transferred to the radio via the transmitter mounted in front of the radio.

Thanks so that's what I need . So the thin end goes on the hu right and the other end I have to hide in the dash. On the harness I can splice all the needed wires acc/igntion/ill/remote and run it to the trunk. As for the ground its metal in the trunk. My cars antenna is in the trunk can I tap into that by the way its a 93 deville
