Recess the installation of the CVA and place an ABS plastic cover over the area. What vehicle is this going into ?

Don't know if this is your own vehicle or not, but if you can, recess the CVA into the mounting hole and fabricate your own trim bezel out of fiberglass or MDF. Once recessed you can make yourself a cover taht will lay over top of the CVA to cover it's face when the monitor is down.
