Hi ,

I dont do many dvd player installs so please bare with me.

I am installing a pt-700mhr screen in a van. I am using a valor dv- 170 dvd player. The problem I am having is that when it is all hooked up the screen is black and white. But when I hook the screen to a ps2 or dvd player from the house it has color. Same thing with the dvd player. If I hook the dvd player to a tv from the house it has a color picture. Are these units not compatible? And what would cause them not to be compatible? I have tried resetting the unit,ran power and ground straight from the battery everything. Thanks

Have you tried replacing the Video patch cord that connects the 2 units. How long is the cable that connects the 2 units? Did you use that cable when testing with other units?

Yes I tried numerous different cables and used the same cable when testing the other units. the cable is about 10 to 15 feet long. I have also tried a new dvd player.

By the way the screen is a power acoustik pt-700mhr. Yesterday tried a second dvd player. still the same thing. No response from either manuf. I ordered a power acoustik dvd to see if maybe the valor dvd isnt compatible with the power acoustik 7" screen. Does any of this make sense? Shouldn't the screen work with any dvd player with a video out? Any input would be great. I dont do much with mobile video. Starters are more my thing. Thanks

Tried a power acoustik dvd to go with the power acoustik pt-700mhr. It finally works. I guess the valor dvd player isnt compatible with the pa screen. WIERD!
