2009 Kia Rondo
Pioneer AVIC X710BT
Boyo VTL351 Camera
PAC SWI-PS Remote Interface

Hooked everything up but my AM stations go to hell during the video feed. If I power up the camera but unplug the video the AM stations are clear.
I tried grounding the antenna to chasis - no improvement
Camera ground to antenna ground - no improvement

Running out of ideas, might a filter for the video work?

Thanks!

Try grounding the shield of the video RCA jack.

Noise on AM is not an easy thing to help you with.  Make sure that the antenna cable and the video wire are as far apart as they can be.  Other than that I really have no idea of how you can get rid of the noise.  How much time do you spend in reverse?

Pretend as though you have an older Pioneer nav unit.  You know one of the ones that took forever to start playing audio.  They would not begin to play untill you had backed out of your drive and had made it a half a block down the road.

thanks for the response,

1. originally I wired the camera power to the reverse signal sensor on the pioneer (which will in turn connects to the reverse light - saving me one extra wire to pull to the back) - unfortunately the camera power seems to load down the input signal and the pioneer won't sense the 12v when applied.

2. decided to power the camera to the ign power instead (esp since the pioneer has an option to view the camera whenever the deck is on) - which results in AM static

3. will now pull the camera wire to the reverse light and live with the static.
