Hi Guys,

I just wanted to get some information on back-up camera's. I wanted to know some GOOD brands to look at and some to STAY AWAY from?

Just need opinions. I have a customer thats wants me to install one, But I have no clue what to look for in back-up camera's

thanks

We have carried many brands over the years and most are junk. Some were really nice looking, in aluminum cases, and still have issues. Most get wet and die. The best one i have come across is actually one of the cheesiest, Advent CAM330. I guesstimate after 100 installs i have maybe changed 2. They also have a microphone built in, kinda neat...

I bought one off E-Bay,  called VR3 Wireless for my work van and has work well for me so far, over 2 years. Camera connected to back up lights and monitor connected to accessory.   Worst thing was if the back up camera sit facing the direct sun it tends to get blurry but clears up. Condensation? Moisture?   Not the greatest unit for night operations.
