Hello all. I have a 99 Acura RL w/factory navigation. From 96-99 Acura used a hard drive based navi brain. The hard drives failed all the time (as ine is now). In 2000 acura decided to upgrade to a dvd based navi and I am in the process of converting my hdd navi to dvd.
I have hit a bump in the road with the limited knowlegde that I have. The problem I face is the display will only come on if forced (ie. does not automatically come on when the car is started). When I force it on to the "system links" (diagnostic) screen it shows the display, navi brain and antenna. If everything is connected correctly then they would all be in green. But if any part is not connected correctly then it would be in red. My navi brain is in green as well as the antenna. The screen however is in red thus I cannot use the touch function or even the buttons. Someone please help me to rectify this problem. I have included an few diagrams to help out. If there is anyone in the 5 boroughs of ny that can help I will gladly drive to meet you. Thank you for viewing.

By saying in the process do u mean u have already installed the DVD nav portion?
Are you attempting to combine the two systems?
May be able to help if know all steps completed or in process of completing.
Yes I have already installed the DVD section of the navgation. The problem I am having is that everything is hooked up but the monitor only shows the code enter screen. I cannot enter the code in though because the touch capability and the hard buttons are not responding. I think that the screen is just not compatible signal wise.
Ok. So I was right about the screen and the signal. I installed the screen from a 00 RL and it responded. Touch and hard buttons work.
