How hard would it be to install a 7" monitor into my 2002 Chevy Cav?  Anyone with experience, please let me know if it is possible and how hard it will be.

I want to put in a raw monitor.  I am looking at trying to put it in the factory deck location and installing a new cd/dvd deck at the bottom.

You will need to fiberglass a mounting bracket into the OEM location and then attach the monitor to a MDF back plate to hold it into place. It takes time and practice to make the project look good. You may want to practice on something prior to doing this if you have not had any experience with fiberglass.

I was wondering what you meant by fiberglassing a mounting bracket.  And also how would I go about installing a cd/dvd receiver underneath the air controls?  How do I shape the fiberglass to make it look nice?  Remember, I am a biginner without my certification yet.  I have had alot of practice installing speaker, receivers and amps, but I have never used fiberglass.

I will be putting together a how-to on speaker and amplifier enclosures that use the same principles as the fiberglass molding for the HU's. I'll post it within the week.
