I have a 2012 Prius W/O JBL system, I do have a rear veiw camera and getting ready to replace Head Unit with a Clarion. Does the stock wiring to HU already have a reverse wire in the factory harness? Is that what triggers the camera on the factory HU? I don't want to run a wire from the kick panel if one is already up by the HU.

You are going to run a wire from the camera to the head unit. But not from the kick panel to the head unit?

No, from the kick panel to head unit.

My point is if there is a reverse already in the HU harness why run one from the kick panel.

Something has to trigger the stock HU that it's in reverse for the current camera in place.
