I need help installing a 7" nesavision NSCM-722 drop-down lcd monitor on a Honda Odyssey. The problem is that the instructions are for vehicles that have a center dome light but the Odyssey does not have one. What do I do? I've looked everywhere online but only found a PDF on how to installl the Honda DVD system. It mentions a template that comes with it for knowing where to cut in teh ceiling. Please advice. I am just a brave owner who would like to learn how to do it myself. But I do not want to make the fatal mistake of cutting at the wrong place. This monitor is tiny and there is not much margin for error.
Thanks.
Melvin

Unless the flip down is an oem version, don't rely on the install manual too heavily for installation. It sounds like it is just a universal flip down. Just position the cutting diagram where you want it to sit, checking for clearence above the headliner, and double check that it is straight and then mark and cut. If the flip down has wiring instructions that say to get power or any other wiring at the dome light then it can be found elsewhere. If you have any other concerns or Q's then reply and I will try to answer them.

auex,
thanks for your reply. i think it is a universal flip down. i do not have a cutting diagram, that's why i am concerned because i do not want to cut without knowing where i should cut. i know where it is roughly by looking at pictures and looking at the honda dvd system pdf manual but i am not certain of it. the screen is a drop down and it has a long harness that goes to a swictch. do you know where i can find a cutting diagram for the honda odyssey? and, is this diagram for the honda dvd system? i ask because the honda one is a much bigger system than the nesavision screen i bought. any help would be appreciated.
nesavision 7" lcd screen
thanks,

Well some units don't need a cutting diagram, all you need to do is run the wiring through the headliner and secure the flip down to the headliner or to a metal brace above the headliner. This unit also has a domelight built in, you can either wire it up or just use the switch that is built in.

correct. i seems like i don't need a cutting diagram. but, i do need to cut somewhere in the headliner to attatch the flip down bracket to the metal frame above the headliner. that's what i'm trying to figure out. where exactly are these holes in the ceiling where the mounting screws will attatch to? are they all around the center of the vehicle? or only at a certain location?

Hi, You might check out www.odyclub.com for some help with your Odyssey. Here is a link to a thread about installing a 7" in the Ody- this guy took his whole headliner out, so you can see where all the braces are in the roof. . . www.odyclub.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2314&perpage=15&pagenumber=1 Hope this helps- I'm doing a 9" widescreen next week in my Odyssey!
