Hey guys,
I am attempting to directly wire a Roku 3 to my video input to my car. The input voltage is 12v according to ROku's website.
What would i need to do to directly wire it to my cigarette ACC and Ground? I would need a fuse (what amp?) and some type of voltage regulator I am assuming.
I can always do a small inverter hardwired into my glove box, but i would rather not have that always in there.
Let me know what you guys think.

It seems like a 12V device and hence is not suited to 12V automotive systems which are typically 14.2 - 14.4V but may hit 16V, plus spikes etc.
You'd need a buck/boost dc-dc converter rated for 1A output. There are several 2A units available on eBay etc.
The fuse rating should not be higher than the wiring you use but I'd suggest 2A - maybe with 5A or similar wiring.
Its low current should not be a problem for a cig socket. Tho they are generally supposed to be rated at 15A many give problems at only few Amps (problems including fire as well as current incapability).
