Ok , I am trying to install a Pioneer AVIC 505 Navigation system in a Mitsubishi Carisma 1996 (Europe).

I am trying to discover the damn Speed Pulse on the car.
What voltage should I get ? AC /DC ? What voltage should I get when the car has:
a. Engine Off
b. Engine in runing in free gear
c. Car running on the road

Do I have such a wire in this car ?
Can somebody help please ?

Thank you.

When I test speed wires I set my meter to AC volts and ground one side and tap the possible speed wire with the other. It should sit at nothing really readable and go up to maybe a volt or so with the car rolling. Faster you go the more it rises. Might want to have someone help you as it's tough sometimes to roll the car and watch the meter at the same time. As far as speed wire color/location I have no info on the Carisma. Also according to MECP, to test a speed wire put your meter on a 30VDC scale, and it should read 0 volts until the car starts moving at which time it will read 5 - 12 volts. Never tried this method I always use the first method..Good luck
