Hello,
I'm new here, a retired electrician and don't know much about 12v audio or other electronics. I am having a problem which will probably sound dumb or simple to you but it's got me pulling what little hair I have left out.
I bought a Rand McNally model RVND7735 GPS for my RV. The internal speaker is not loud enough such that I can hear it good while driving. There is an output connector they say is for an external speaker that will drive a set of earbuds or work as aux input to RV dash stereo. Not supposed to drive with earbuds and rather listen to tunes on the stereo so I bought a battery powered external speaker. It's a G-Project G10, 5vdc 500mA and my I-phone drives it fine but the GPS won't drive it and I don't understand why. What to try next to get more audio out of the GPS? Rand McNally is not helpful at all.
Thanks,
Mud

Are you using a 3 conductor plug to plug into the gps? If so you need to try and use a 2 conductor plug. How many black rings are on the plug? 1 or 2? 1 ring - a 2 conductor. 2 rings = 3 conductor

The plugin is 3 wire. I'll get a 2 wire one. The cord is built into the external speaker I have, is there such thing as an adapter.
Thanks for your help!
