Hi, all - I'm trying to finalize my understanding of what the various wires on the Chinese wiring harness are intended to do. Here's a photo of the legend:

Most, I understand. The ones I'm unclear on are
3   K1
4   SAF
5   CAM-IN
6   CAM-LINE
12 K2

5 and 6 clearly relate to a video in signal, but I don't know what they're expecting.

And, in a vaguely related matter... I've currently got the deck set up on the bench, with nothing more than power, ground, antenna, and 1 speaker hooked up. When I play a DVD, I get the message 'for your safety video is disabled'. It seems to me I'm supposed to ground one of these lines to enable video, but I cannot recall which one. Suggestions?

Thanks - Charlie

Guessing K1 & K2 might be for steering wheel controls. SAF maybe parking brake switch input...try grounding with DVD playing.
CAM-IN; reverse lights input to automatically activate camera. CAM-LINE, no idea.

Okay - I've got a bit more of it puzzled out.

#3 - K1 - refers to ignition key position 1.
#5 - CAM-IN - combines with ground #2 and terminates in a female RCA jack. So, clearly a video in signal of some sort. Probably a backup camera.
#12 - K2 - refers to ignition key position 2.

#4 - SAF - and # 6 - CAM-LINE - I have no clue in the universe.

Anyone? Anyone?

Bueller?

Sigh... >Charlie

#6 CAM-LINE _Based on wire color and Title should be the +12v input to switch camera on. As most remote turn ons are Blue. Also for reference in Electrical terminology LINE is the HOT wire common is ground.

Hey, Lurch228 - thank you! I had planned to pick up the 12 volts for the camera from the back up lights on the car; but at least I know what it's for. There would be no way for it to know what gear I'm in, so I'm guessing it would probably just be a constant 12 volts all the time. I'll check it with a meter. Thanks for that one!
