Test the blue/white wire at the rear view mirror.

If it is not at the mirror, that same wire is in the drivers kick panel in the harness going to the rear of the vehicle.

Autodimming rearview mirrors have reverse wired to the mirror so that the dimming is canceled when in reverse.

Does your 1+ ton workhorse van have an auto dimming mirror? Let us know.

Blue with a white stripe. If you are having trouble finding it, it is also at the bulb in the back of the vehicle.

Do you have a multimeter? Do your reverse lights work?

Alternatively, you can test a brown/yellow wire (negative switched) at the transmission range sensor, PCM, or battery junction box. Of course, you'll need to invert the polarity with a relay.

Reversing the polarity may have damaged the unit.
