I just installed an Alpine CVA-1004 multimedia station and want to use a remote with it. I have an RUE-4187 but I bought an RUE-4190 remote to use instead. However both do not work, no functions work with the unit. Could anyone give me some hints as to why it's not working? Is there anything special I have to hook up or install or connect in order to have a functioning remote control? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I think there might be a switch on the back of the unit, or maybe just a setting somewhere, to enable the remote control capability. Or sometimes there's a switch built in to the remote control.
