What is a better quality monitor....the STN/LCD or the TFT/LCD monitors?
I am planning to get a 7.2" monitor, either SPL or Legacy. The SPL is the STN and the Legacy is the TFT.

Normally, there are various types of LCD's. STN, DSTN, TFT, and many other types of LCD's are available for different kinds of applications. TFT's offer best viewing angle, brightness, and contrast ratio. The most distinctive difference between STN and TFT is the viewing angle.

A common TFT LCD screen has a viewing angle of L/R 60 degree; Up 15 degre; Down 25 degree, while a STN less than 15 degree in all direction. The difference coming next is the color, the color of a TFT is sharp, bright and real.The Industry called TFT true color while STN false color.

TFT is surely the way to go. I purchased a system with a TFT monitor and the company sent me STN. I could barely see the video lest I was directly in front of the screen.

By the way, be very wary of purchasing anything from Newsales.com or Salesco (same company). They have been suspended from e-bay
