Hi,Dan here,i would like to thank you for answering to my : "FUSED TWEETERS ",I checked and my Mb Quart tweets are 50 Watts,can you also tell me if i should fuse my mids ?,they are also Mb Quarts and they are 5.25" @ 50 Watts and 4" @ 80 Watts,now i don't wanna sound greedy but how about subs,do they need to be fused in any way ? well it's an 10" A/D/S/ 310RS.2 @ 300 Watts per coil,i apreciate the help and i thank you for taking the time to help out.

hi,dan no problem helping you I like to it keeps me up on my studying. posted_image ok well i forgot to ask you the resistance value for you r speakers what is the value of the tweeters mids and subs you will be using .The formulla to figure out this is the square root of the maximum rms power of the speaker divided by the resistance. To answer your question yes it is fine to fuse anything whetehr it be a sub or tweeter whatever. I would definately fuse those tweeters though especially not using that croosover they came with as to the fact of the power protection some supply, so the fuse is your only protection here other than never playing your music loud which is usually never an option. posted_image subs generally are power hungry so it is more involved to fuse but yes it can be done sometimes its more about trial and error than theory because you may have your bass super high one day and drive that amp into distortion and blow the fuse so the value may need adjusting but if you want post your resistance value for each speaker and i can help lead you in the right direction.

I have fused subs before and i have seen a lot of people say they are always blowing the fuse but what they fail to realize is they get caried away with the volume and if that fuse were not there they may have blown the sub over time. Another thing is i see people that get sh*tty equipment and drive subs into distortion so in this case a fuse would be ideal. while we are on the point of distortion you never want to drive a tweeter especially intro distortion you will almost always blow it. You need to fuse them bro. good luck posted_image

Hi mobiltoys2002,all the info i have on the tweets is this:Freq. response 4K,sensitivity 90 dB,power range 50 watts,crossover freq. 4500 Hz,that's all on the tweets;on the 5.25" i have this:freq. response 55-32K,sensitivity 85 dB,power range :35 - 50 watts,crossover freq. 4200Hz,crossover slope 12 dB/octave; on the 4" i have this:freq. response 62-5 k,sensitivity 85 dB,power range 30-80 Watts,crossover freq. ~150 Hz,crossover slope 12 dB.They are all 4 ohms,I hope this info helps,thanks again mobiltoys2002. posted_image

ok well for the tweeters i get a fuse size of 3.53 amps,3.53 amps for the 5.25 mids and for the subs i get 8.66 amps per coil and for the 4 inch i will use 40 watts as their max rms power as 80 sounds to high for an rms rating, and i get 3.16 amps so on that one i would try a 3 amp fuse .On the tweeters and mids use a 3.5 amp fuse. now on the sub try to get a fuse close to the figure i gave you sometimes you will not be able to get a fuse rating you need in these cases you can always put two fuses together in a paralell configuration to equall the desired rating.If you continuosly blow fuses it may be wise to add a auto reset circuit breaker but that is just an idea. well it also depends on how you will be running these subs to give you the right way of fusing them. If you have any more questions just ask good luck. one more thing if it was me i would worry more about the tweeters than anything else so the first thing to fuse would be them. You can under do the fuse a little but DONT OVERDUE IT THE VALUES I GAVE YOU ARE CORRECT FOR THE POWER RATINGS YOU GAVE ME. posted_image
