I am not quite sure how to install one of  these, can you just take the overhead dome lights off your car and replace it with the monitor.  I have a 93 taurus.  I already have a pioneer SDV-P7 dvd player and would like to install the pioneer AVR-W6100.

any help would be appreciated.

If the existing dome light is in your way, then yes you can use the light on the monitor as the dome light.  I just installed an overhead unit into my Expedition this past weekend and the install went very well.  Make sure that you use some type of supporting material in between the headliner and the roof of the car.  Most headliners are nothing more than lightweight material, and the screws to the monitor mounting plate will not stay in.
