Hi,
After a really frustrating experience with Circuit City and their installation of an overhead system in my new Explorer, I have decide to put in the full Vizualogic headrest setup myself.
The install of the headrests, dvd player, fm modulator, and rf headphones looks very straight foward. I do have one question however.
I pulled the trim plate and then the radio and noticed the BLACK/ orange and the BLACK/ pink wires are soldered and taped. I'm assuming Circuit City used the switched power and whatever the other wire is to hook up the Sony Dream DVD system that was previously installed. These two wires look really thin to hook up the Vizualogic system to. Am I right? If that's a bad spot, any ideas where I can power this system?
I really dont want to drill into the firewall and tap the battery, as I want to keep this as clean as possible.
Sorry for the boring question, but I'd love to do this myself.
Can the system be powered off the radio wires?
Thanks,
Tim

Yeah using that system off the radio would be fine (I think the main boxes only have 2A fuses in them), but if you'd like you can go to the ignition harness. No need to go to the battery OR run real thick power wire. That might actually be better just run your power wires down one side of the car and the rcas down the other to the FM modulator. That system isn't too bad to install the only pain is that you have to Y off the audio and video signals. Do you have the old system (1 box for each monitor) or the new one (one box for both)?
