No different than a CD player, there are power, ground, remote turn on and if it has a TV tuner you have the diversity antenna to mount. There will be audio outputs and maybe another set of video outputs and audio/video inputs. Otehr than this just read the instructions that come with the unit and you'll be fine.

i have a 98 ford contour gl.  my girlfriend bought me a lanzar in dash tv.   it does have a tv tuner.  i was curious, it has a parking brake wire and another wire for  you to run in order it to play video.  i was just curious how to run those wires.  i have the rest of it down pat.  thankyou.

so, let me give this a shot.  all i need to do is to ground the parking brake wire and i should be able to hook up my tv tuner, dvd player, ps2, or whatever it may be,  and still allow them to play while driving.  i hope i made some sense.  just seeing if i got the right idea from that forum.

You will also need to pulse the foor brake once or twice enabling ( along with grounding the hand brake wire ) the player to display the video.

If you are looking for something to perform the foot brake and emergency brake like the Alpine units need, PAC TR-7 is one of the easiest to use. About $19.95 and way easier than using switches.

I have a 2001 Lexus LX 470.  It is equiped with the Lexus Navigation and 6 disc DVD changer.  I recently had 2 audiovox screens put in the head rests, and a separate audiovox DVD player.

Question 1:  Can the factory DVD player and navigation be changed to play while driving?  How?

Question 2: Can the factory DVD be integrated into the screen on the headrests?  How?  They Screens do have 2 audio/video inputs.  One of which is currently being used by the audiovox DVD.
