Either one would suffice. Go to the one that is the easierst to get at. You can also use any switched 12 volts power from the fuse box or the ignition harness as well.

If i put it to my ignition wire, won't that vary between 14 and 12 volts?? is this ok for the screen to go through?  Do I need a DC-DC converter to keep a constant 12V's or is the cars battery close enough?

Thanks,

Justin

no u won't need anything because u will need to use a relay.... so one wire is going to the the 12 pos. when the car is on... ones going to be a 12 always ones gonna be a ground.....and ones gonna go to the device power i wouldn't suggest wiring it right up to the ignition wire.... im kinda new at this too so..... but i think thats the way to do it

You do not need a relay.  If your LCD has 12v and a negative for wires then I would use the Switched 12volts from your head unit.  This power source normally has less interference than most of the other Switched 12 volts.  Never connect to direct 12volts. You might forget to turn off the unit and can cause a fire.

Also, make sure that you have a fuse between the lines.

John,  very good,  the fuse box is the NOISIEST place inside the car to get power for MV.  The radio is the best place. Make sure you also ground the LCD's and DVD at the same point.
