Hi guys I'm trying to do my first DIY project to my car, putting the ps2 in my car, I found this really useful article on the net https://www.caraudiomag.com/technical/0305cae_swap/but now I got a problem, I found the exact same inverter they used in the article https://cgi.ebay.com/dl...&category=32814but the thing is, it is plug into the cigarette lighter for power, and if I cut the part off how do I make the wire to look like this? https://www.caraudiomag.com/technica...ae_swap10_z.jpgand what is the green stuff that's connected to the inverter? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

The green thing is a thirty amp fuse. Just cut the cig lighter off and make sure you mark the wires. Then plug the lighter part in and see which wire is power and which wire is ground, then just wire the actual wires up that way.

Yes, worry about the fuse, make sure to put the fuse in. And solder them to the cig lighter lead.

Thanks for the help auex, appreciated, but I never done solder before so I'm afarid I will mess it up, I see in the article that they just use some kind of tab to attach the inverter to cig lighter? is that correct? what kind of tabs do I need? Thanks

They used T-Taps in the article. It will work as well, hell you can even cut the wiring of the cig. lighter and butt connect the inverter wiring into the cig lighter's wiring.

You could also use butt connectors and use an inline fuse. Its a little bit easier and hides well when running the wire.
