I have a couple of silly electrical questions relating to my power inverter...

1. My inverter is rated at 150W @ 110V. I would like to run my Xbox in my vehicle using this inverter however the Xbox requires 120V. Will it still work correctly with this inverter? Would there be any long-term effects of running it at 110V instead the required 120V?

2. My inverter has a 2-prong electrical plug on the side of the chassis where the Xbox cord is to be plugged in to (if I want to leave the inverter sitting out on the floor). However the inverter also came with a separate game plate which has the electrical plug and RCA inputs for audio and video (if I want to hide the inverter away somewhere, the game plate can be mounted in a side panel). My question is regarding the electrical plug on the game plate... it is 3-prong (i.e. includes the lower ground prong). The 2 normal electrical prong sockets have wires that run back to the inverter (obviously), however the 3rd ground prong does not. Do I need to do anything with this 3rd prong (ground it or anything)? Obviously if I only plug in the 2-prong game console everything will be fine. However what happens if someone plugs a 3-prong appliance into the game plate without the 3rd prong being wiRED / grounded? Should I even worry about this?

No problem with either question. The inverter will work fine in either application and is the correct unit for voltage. Just don't bury it. It needs to breathe as is can get warm.

The third pin is earth / chassis ground. Technically speaking with the (2) pin configuration the supply is considered to have a *floating* ground plane.

If you wish to have a earth / chassis ground, then you would affix the third pin to the vehicles under body chassis frame.

This will provide you with *true* ground, and not simply *negative floating* ground.

If you require more information as to the technical difference, please ask.
