Hey guys ... I have a 2004 honda civic and I am doing a little custom LCD monitor in the dash.  I wanted to know what I should use to power the monitor?  I could use the wires going to my cigarette lighter ... or .... ???  Should I just wire it up to the power wire of the radio?  Also ... I just installed a monitor in a 93 civic and it's getting really bad video noise.  I have tried different grounds and 2 different power sources ... any thoughts on these questions?  Thanks!

take the power from the fuse box somewhere for the monitor and as far as the 1993 Civic, make sure that your RCA cables are isolated from your power wires and also make sure that you are using high quality RCA cords to reduce EMI into the monitor.

I've had a bad experience wiring up monitors using radio wires, or cig. wires. Me personally, I would grab the wires under th dash.

Thanks for the replies ... sounds like I will go with the fuse box.  Just out of curiosity Teamrf, what happened when you wired the monitor with the radio?  I know someone who has done it that way, but he talked about using diodes in the wiring ... anyway ... one more question, the monitor I have is a Pioneer AVD-W6210 and it has a 12V memory wire, as well as an acc. wire ... should I just find an acc. and power in the fuse?  or should the power (mem.) be wired else where?  Thanks again for the help!

One of the wires should be hooked up to something that is switched with the ignition, and the other should be hooked up to a constant 12 volt (the mem).

not if your into flossin' like me :)  i have both my raw LCD and power inverter for VCR/DVD player hardwired.  Once or twice in a club parking lot, I've left the LCD on showing a movie...I was NEARBY, though.  and my security is top notch DIY.
