Hello all,

I have an xbox and I want to use it as my dvd player for my mobile video system. I already have the DVD playback kit. Here's my problem, the xbox console will sit underneath my amp rack in my trunk (98 accord coupe) I want to have the dvd kit in the front of the cabin. I understand that I have a few choices (IR repeater, or lengthening the controller cable) which do you guys recommend? Also, if I extend the controller port (basically relocating it to the front of the cabin) can I do it so that I have the "oval type" connector up front rather than the "circular type" that is what the controller extension cables offer. How?

Also for anyone running a modified xbox (I have yet to modify mine), do I even need the dvd kit to play DVD movies or access "backed-up" movies? Thanks!

Just to reply to the modified xbox portion:

You don't need the kit with a modified Xbox but the remote itself was worth the $20. With the modified Xbox you can use your controller as the remote but I like the remote better.

Hope this helps

With mine, I just extended the wiring on one of the ports off the Xbox and fiberglassed it into my center console.

If you don't mind looking at their huge dvd plug-in piece, it is easy to do. Each port only has 4 wires that you have to extend.
