I installed two headrest monitors with a dvd. everything works fine but my battery drains. The FM mod and the DVD are hook up to 12V constant. The screens are hooked up to both constant and ignition. Should I connect the FM mod and DVD to the ignition or should I install a switch? Do I need to install a relay with any of these options? If you know of a better way please let me know.

Hook up the FM mod and the DVD to IGN power. This way you will not have the devices draw current when the truck is off. The DVD is suppose to have both constant and an ignition, but the FM mod should only be on switched ignition.

Thanks for the quick reply. The DVD only has two wires 12V constant and negative. I guess I will connect the constant to ignition.

Make sure you use a relay. Drawing that kind of amperage on a light duty wire will fry it in a heartbeat. Relays are cheap and easy to install. Only four wires.

Thanks. Ill make sure to use a relay. Is this correct: 87 to 12V, 86 to IGN, 85 Ground, 30 to FM Mod and DVD?
