how do you hook up a fm modulator to a dvd player and a screen

Most FM modulators have a power and ground . There is an antenna input and output on the module itself. Most of the FM modulators tune into the 88.3/88.7 mhz range.

Wire in the DVD output RCA's to the input RCA of the FM modulator. There are two sets of inputs ..... 1 goes to the tuner and the other goes to the antenna ( it will say on the modules itself ).
