Im just about to start out on installing a Pioneer AVH-p6500DVD in my car with the AVIC-800DVD navigation unit.  The navigation unit requires a pink wire be connected up to the cars speed sensor.

BMW have told me that the wire is BLACK/ white and can be found on the cars original stereo connector, ive checked and it is not there.

Does anyone know the correct location for this wire and the correct colour. My car is a 318ci coupe on 2000 plate.

Also do I even really need to connect the speed sensor, would the navigation system be totally incorrect without it.

Thanks

you do need the vss wire, if you drive through a tunnel or lose satellite feed your system wont know where it is. and it will place you at the last place it read.Which could be a few km away.
