dear memebers on the forum,
it is been a while i have post here...and now i need your guy's help again. first of all, really need to thank jeff for helping the best he can, he is really a cool guy.
back on topic. I have been using FM modulator to get sounds from my DVD player. However, the quality is not as good as directly connecting the wires into the speakers. so my question is, if i get rid of the FM mod, what can i do to produce good quality sound from my dvd unit into my speakers. (i still have my stock radio unit) Do i need to get a brain? if so, what kind?

As far as I know the systems that add onto the OEM radio's are only able to piggy back the FM signal and playback through the OEM stereo. If you want to directly feed into the speaker's, you would need to get an aftermarket system with an AUX input for the audio output's of the DVD player. Aside from this there may be some companies that make an interface module that will directly feed into the OEM amplifier or OEM headunit, but it will be limited to the make & model of the vehicle that you have. PAC makes alot os interface products for Chevy trucks and car's. ------------- Jeff

You can also try a different brand of fm modulator. I've noticed that some of the cheaper ones produce engine hum. I've even used a ground loop isolater to elliminate noise.

Look at https://www.pie.net they make cables for pretty much all makes and models that plug into the AUX / CD Changer port of your radio. I'm using it on my 02 Durango and it is 100 times better than the FM modulator I had before. Good luck. ------------- AGDodge

I purchased a kenwood Aux / cd changer plug that accepts RCA's but its for Kenwoods obviously. I beleive that the above link (pie.net) has ones that fit into factory cd changer inputs.

As they all metioned above you are wanted to keep your oem radio, just invest in a digital modulator it will be a noticable difference. ------------- The Clear Bra Guy
