I've got a DVD player running through a FM Modulator into the stock Saturn head unit. My problem is it seems like something is overpowering the audio signal from the DVD player. With the DVD set on volume number 1 (the low end of the scale) It still sounds like its being overdriven. Any ideas what the problem may be? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Unfortunately, it seems that there is not an option to turn down the gain. This is the link to the modulator
here It has single set of dip switches on the back to select from different frequencies or a setting called high impedance. When you set it for the later, it doesn't broadcast on any stations. Anyone know what this option may be for? Thanks for the reply.
I had the same problem with My Clarion FM Modulator. I finally gave up on it, and looked for a different way to hook it up. I found https://www.pie.net they make cables to connect to your radio via the AUX port, or the CD Changer port. On my Durango I now use the PIE cable that plugs into the CD Changer port on the back of my head unit and I no longer have to select an FM station to listen to the DVD's/MP3's I just switch to the radio to the CD Changer (Via the MODE switch) and there is the sound. It's much better than before as it is Digital to Digital.
The price for the Clarion FM Modulator $39.99
The price for the PIE cable $69.00, but worth every penny.
Good luck.
