does anyone know if any of the kenwood stand alone monitors such as the lz-801w are capable of being used to control the kvt-911dvd instead of or in addition to the built in screen. what i would like to do is flush mount the screen in the dash so it will be built in and wont flip out any more .

I hear there is someone out there that is making such a cable.  They do use the same pin configuration for the monitor, but this is a connector on the inside of the units.  I'll ask the person who mentioned this to me and get back with you.

thanks for the reply i've been trying to find a way to extend the cable for the built in screen but i have had no luck . I know that it can be done because i have seen it in photos many times . so far you are the only person to confirm that somone acctually makes the cable . If you find out who makes it I would greatly appreciate it .posted_image

In this picture, it looks like the KVT-911DVD screen has been detached from the main section.  This is not a LZ-800W monitor.  It is much wider thank this, and it appears there is no access to the numerous buttons that are along the bottom of the LZ-800W.

I know the screen in the picture is a detached 911 screen , I should have phrased my question better . I want to either get a lz801w monitor to work or seperate and flush mount the 911 screen in the dash . the reason I want to do this with the 911 is that it is a more advanced unit with alot more features than the new double din unit .
