I was wondering if you could hoop up the speedometer without buying the module.  And i have been getting a warning saying something like the G position is not placed right or something like that.  Does anyone know what that means.

If you can find and access your VSS wire then you can hook the systems speed sensor wire to that.  Otherwise you will need the module.

The nav unit itself has mercury switches inside that detect fwd/rear and side to side movment.  Make sure the box is mounted correctly. (See manual)
