I just got a 2004 Trailblazer LT with the DVD player, but no OnStar. I have a Pioneer DEH-P550MP head unit from my previous vehicle.
My headunit has the capability of RCA inputs via the IP-bus feature
i pulled out the stereo today and found that the factory DVD (RSE) is wired through a harness separate from the "standard" harness. (https://area76.com/acdelcocatalogPT1128.gif) i am assumuming the spot on the stereo is where the OnStar or CD changer would normally be attached... to this harness, there are 6 wires:
pink w/ black stripe orange w/ black stripe brown w/white black w/white green w/white and a wire that is wrapped in black tape
basically, is there a way to convert this harness to male RCA's, or does someone know what the different colored wires do? i am also considering doing a relocation of the factory stereo, now that i found a good spot for it. thanks in advance

upon further thnking, i am tending to believe this harness is for surround sound audio to the factory stereo (LF, RF, LR, RR, SUB channels and a common ground)...if i am mistaken, let me know..i will be pulling the DVD unit apart tomorrow to see what kind of outputs it has...
