I have seen a lot of these products at mp3playerstore.com..... they seem very inexpensive. I know the old adage "you get what you pay for", but i have also seen some cheap stuff work in the past.... does anyone have any innovatek products, and are there any real-life actual success or failure stories? (please no comments if you have no experience with them) thanks! ------------- Loving Car Audio since 1992

yea i been looking at the monitors they have there at the website, but it doesn't really matter about the name all that matter is that it says TFT and that it has high resolution (224,640 pixels and above is the best).

I forgot to mention do not get the ones that say STN they are false color while TFT produces sharp, bright, and real images.

well, for an update - i got one and it works fine. It isn't as clear and bright as my old Clarion unit, but it suffices just fine. I am happy with my purchase. two thumbs up for Innovatek! ------------- Loving Car Audio since 1992

I just bought an Innovatek DVD/stereo with the monitor. Everything seems to work except I keep blowing the inline fuse for the stereo. I have the stereo and monitor battery wires going to the memory/battery wire on the wiring harness. Then I have the stereo ignition switch connected to the battery/acc/ignition wire on the wiring harness. The stereo in-line fuse keeps blowing but the monitor in line fuse doesn't blow. I've tried everything I can think of. I ran both ground wires to a frame bolt. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thank you so much!

well if you keep blowing fuses, you have a short somewhere. Maybe the insulation on one of the power wires coming out of the monitor is stripped, or pinched somewhere when you jam it into the DIN opening.
bottom line is somewhere, some wire is exposed. This is if its an immediate fuse blow.... if it only happens over time, your guess is as good as mine.
an update on my innovatek monitor, its still kicking strong after several months now. the mechanism you use to push it in and out gets jammed up sometime, since its not motorized (you push it in and flip it out yourself).... but i am still happy with my purchase.
good investment.

I purchased a Legacy 10.4" flip down which is the same unit as the innovatek 10.4" flip down. I'm very impressed with it overall. It has a sharp picture and really good angle viewing. The only problem I have is in really bright / direct sunlight it becomes a little difficult to watch.

yeah i have the same wash-out problem with my 7" unit... during daylight you really can't see anything. but at night its fine. The clarion i had before was brighter, but it also cost ten times as much!
