is there any basic tutorials about doing either? especially how do you do an overhead monitor on a roof that is just flat...isnt the metal right there? so how do you screw into it?

There is an article floating around about headrest installation. But the overhead with a flat headliner are pretty simple. Take out your dome light, see what type of support you have right there. You may have to add a peice of wood so you don't drill through the roof. Just be careful, drilling through the roof would not make any customer happy.
