Just installed a new Pyle PLTVRDIN65 which is an in-dash dvd player and 6.5 in monitor. It's got a separate "brain box" which houses the am/fm/tv tuner. Got everything wired up correctly, as far as I can tell, and its working fine except...

My problem is that I get a buzz when playing dvds or cds. Anything that comes from the in-dash unit has the buzz. Playing the radio works just fine, no buzz. The buzz is definately due to something not being shielded or filtered correctly because it changes when you rev the engine but the buzz happens even with the engine off. The speakers are connected to the brain box so my first instinct is that there is a problem with the connection between the head unit and the box.

Anyone run into anything similar? Ideas?

Thanks.

William

Hm, the first think I would do as far as trouble shooting is...I would run a new ground. Don't use the factory ground. If that doesn't do it, then I would try using a noise filter.

Thanks, I'll run a new ground to one of the dash mounting brackets. Keep it nice and short. Hopefully that'll do it.
