I'm hooking up this unit in my car and I'm having aproblem with the brake leads. I read topics about bypassing. I'm not looking to bypass it,I want to hook it up correctly. The unit had no manuals so i'm left with the foot brake & hand brake wires. Do they go to 12v or ground? PLEASE HELP

If you are not interested in bypassing, the parking brake wire needs to be connected to your vehicles "e-brake" lead (ground). The foot brake lead (12-volts) is where the foot brake wire gets connected to.

The yellow'blue wire connects to the footbrake and the yellow/black wire connects to the the e-brake.  The entire diagram can be found on Alpine's web site under the support section

You can't just connect Alpine's to ground.  The system must see the cycle.  You can ground other systems which only have one security wire, but Alpine has two.
