Are all navigation antennas the same other than the connector? Can i install an after market or other brand antenna on an alpine if i solder the right connector on the antenna wire? Thanks for the help...

For the most part they are the same. There are amplified and non-amplified antennas. As long as you are using the same type of antenna then I would think that you can interchange them.
