Trying to figure out of this is possible.  Since the sunroof glass and shade slide aft right where the roof lcd would mount I'm not sure if it's possible.  Upon taking out the sunroof trim around the headliner I can see a metal bridge that is just below the shade.  However there is very little space betwen the metal and shade so if screws went much past the metal they'd rake on the sun shade when you slide the shade open (back).  The metal bridge feels pretty stout however there might be a little bouncing.  Any Libertys out there w/ roof screens?  And getting under the headliner w/ side curtain airbags should be fun.  The service manual seems semi straight forward.

This is a problem where people almost always miss the simple solution. Just get bols and cut them down short and mount them with the heads above the headliner and the shaft pointing down. Then you just screw your nut on from underneth and you are done. Sometimes you have to cut the bolts several times before they are short enough but I have never had it not work yet.

Check out this thread for some general tv tips:

https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=31366

The trick to doing cars with sunroofs is to find the low spots in the sunroof beam. Once you cut away some of the headliner you'll see what I mean there are some dips in the beam that would allow you to get a couple threads of a screw in before you come close to the sunroof shade. Also make sure you cut off the tip of your screw! Some screws have long tips which could net you another thread or two which is a lot when dealing with these things. Not to mention a sharp tip will scratch the headliner long before a flat tip.. If possible to reach above the sunroof beam, you might want to put a piece of velcro (the soft side only) on top where your screw is for extra protection.

Good luck,

Mike

Speaking of sagging I can flex the sunroof beam relatively easy...  It's in a Liberty so these sunroofs may be in other Chryslers/Jeeps.  It feels pretty stout but concerned it may sag a little?  It's a pretty small monitor--10.2 inch Clarion.  Do the screens bounce much over bumps?  This particular screen has a swivel so the mounting point to the sreen is even smaller.  And last question... There is space between the headliner and sunroof beam.  What should I fill that space w/ so I don't crush the headliner?  thanks

I always avoid these installs and sell them some nice head rest monitors when possible, of course depends on the size of the head rest or seat top
