I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus ES sedan with a black key. Does this car have a transponder and (if so) what do I need to do to it before I install a remote start?

Your car does not have a transponder in the key. All Chryslers use a grey key for transponders and black key for non-transponder vehicles.
