I have a 2004 navigator and the navigation system is a pain in the ass. When I drive it disables most of the functions so you can't use it. Is there any way of getting into the software or hardware to change the settings so that I can access all functions while driving?

Push and hold the audio and menu buttons both together for about 5 seconds. When it asks you for a pin number, hit 917. To be honest I don't remember if that just shows your version information or something, but it's worth a shot. Regardless I don't think any programming is going to allow you full access to the functions while driving.

Hi, I was able to get into the diagnostics with that code but was unable to change anything. I think we are getting closer. Is there anything else I can do or input a different code? I know these things are programmable.

Can anyone else find out how to disable those safety features?
