Just had this unit installed with the optional voice recognition unit. Has anyone else had a problem with the voice control feature where the little voice icon that's supposed to show up on the lower left part of the screen telling you it's possible or not to input voice commands never shows up at any time, in any screen? Also the Auto Voice Recognition option under Settings is grayed out and is set to off? Does that option turn the voice feature on? If so, why is it grayed out? Is there some other way to turn voice recognition on? Is it possible that the installer ran the wire for the microphone and everything but did not connect it to the headunit therefore the system does not recognize that it should turn the feature on or something?
TIA, eMass ------------- ->eMass

No, they used the pioneer mic and remote - I have the packaging and everything. If anyone has and avic and can easily unplug the mic from the system, can you see if it displays the same symptoms? Thx. ------------- ->eMass

I had the N1 you will need to be sure the tiny plug that goes into the brain from the mic has not come out very easy to pull out. This happened to me. when they take the vehicle apart to fix this get them to set up the system to recognize it before every thing is back together alot easier than going back and forth, enjoy the CD-VC1 well worth it imo!

also check to make sure it is in the mic input not the wired remote plug, it will fit in either one so this may be the problem
