Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me by letting me know how to take out the CVA 1003 LCD screen?

The unit is damaged, fortunatelly the screen still works.  Is there a way to take the lcd out and use it as a standalone unit.

How would I go upon wiring this thing up, by the looks of it, the lcd is powered by a ribbon type of cable.

All I want to do is splice an rca/power/grown wire to the LCD and make it work as a standalone.

thanks,

more than likely the ribbon cable is the cable from the LCD to the LCD controller

IOW you cant use it as a stand alone LCD

you would be best getting the whole unit working

thats my .02 but i dont know the situation with the deck or why it does not work but the LCD still does??

The deck shows a display, its just when you connect a vid source or sound source you get this feedback type of humming sound,,, and no picture (or a snow effect on the screen)

I had somewhat the same problem with a cva-1003 and I called ALPINE and sent it to them. For $90.00 they fixed the unit as if it were new and gave me a 90 day warrenty. That's an option

i would bet its rgb...at least the factory ones i modify for video display are..i would think internally they do the same thing..converters.tv has the same thing pac sells for 200 bucks.. i think its pac.. anyway, the raw board is only 125,thats probably all you need to make it work..i would need to look a schematic tobe sure, usually you can just look at the circuit board, alpines are usually pretty well labeled..
