Hi,

I am having a problem with my car and hoping someone here can solve my problem(s). I have a iva-c800 with the alpine dvd changer, and 4 additional monitors. Whenever I have my engine turned on the monitors have lines in them. I do have a video amp but not sure if I should video amp it from the alpine changer or from the output of the iva-c800. Right now its amp from the output of my iva-c800. Or do i need regulators? All helps are apprecated. Believe me I need all the help i can!!! Thanks a lot!!!

Are the lines solid, and static? Or are they dynamic, and move in an up or down direction? What type of cables are you using? My 3 monitor install had good picture quality, but when I upgraded to Tsunami 75-Ohm video cable, the picture quality became superb. You aren't using regular audio RCAs are you?

I am using monster video cable. The lines are solid. it gets better when I lower the contrast but not by much. I was thinking is it because of the voltage? I have an 03 tahoe and I amp my accessory(my power source for my monitors) using a relay straight from the battery.

Whenever I get lines or static I reground everything.. But it seems like I do that with almost every problem I have in a car.. Well it seems to keep working!!!

So you know the cable is ok.
Do you have 12VDC on the lines? When you turn different parts of your video system on, do the voltages change at all?
So your power is coming from the ACC line in the truck, right? You really shouldn't need a relay for the monitor power, as the LCD/TFT types usually only consume about 200 mA (.2A). What else do you have drawing current on that ACC line?
Try powering the monitors separate from the video amp, without a relay (just grab power from the CONST). As a test, it should be able to give you a viable solution.

Grounding may be a good thing to check as gotti suggests.
