Need a new source of power

List of things i'm powering:3 x 5.6 Monitors, Pioneer Head unit, Memphis 1000 Watt digital amp, Fm modulator, video amplifer, and a car dvd player. I have the monitors, modulator, the dvd player, and the video amplifer connected to the radio. I know it to much power for it. I need another source. Should i connect some of the wires to the cig. lighter. Should i get one of those big batterys. Need some suggestions. The reason i asking is cause i notice a little fuzziness(not that noticable) when the cars on. Thanks fo any help and advice.

Are you saying you connected all your equipment to the same radio power source or that you connected signal cables to it?    If it was the first then you have to connect all of it with a bigger wire directly to the battery with a fuse in-line.  Dcto you notice some fuzziness when the car is on or off?  I would't recomment connecting that stuff to a cig. lighter since the factory wires are too small and it would look crappy. 

Connect them directly to the battery with a fuse close to the battery.  The big batteries help alot when you have your car turned off alot.  I have a dual battery set-up in my car and I can play my music at full power for provably an hour or more without draining my deep cycle battery completly.  Please explain more.

I connected all to the radio power source. The fuzziness only happens when the car is on. so you're saying run a thicker gauge wire(about what size) directly to the battery?

What is the Memphis Amp for? Or are you just mentioning that?

12 Ga wire should work fine for this application. I used 8Ga for 3 amps, a PS2 (3.5A @ 12VDC), 2 6" LCDs, and 1 7" LCD. My current capacity is much higher than the nominal draw.

As roberto says, don't forget the fuse.

What are the fuse ratings for all of these components?  A HU usually has a 20A or 15A, monitors usually don't draw more than 5A right.  I think I remember installing one with a 1.5 or 2.5A fuse.  The DVD is provably like the head unit (20A), a video amplifier I have no clue but I'll say 2A, the FM modulator I'll say it's around 3A.

With my vauge assumtions it comes to about 55A and on the power and ground sizing page it suggest 10ga for 60A or 12ga for 40A.  I don't think you'll be using the full amps so a 12ga is ok.

What model is the amplifier?  Is it 1000 Watts RMS or Peak and at what impedence?   4ga is ok for up to 8ft but 2ga will be more adequate for longer runs.

You should change your wires and route all the signal cables away from any factory or aftermarket power cables.  The fuzziness is probably being induced from a power cable.

If it's 1000w peak then you probably won't need a 4ga wire.  The way you connect the speakers to the amps and the impedence or resistance of each voice coil has to match the amp. 

For example, I have a 2400W Peak RF amp with RMS of 800W x1 @ 2ohm or 400W x 2 @ 2ohm

@4ohm I get half the power; 200W x 2 or 400w x 1.

If you want to get MECP certified you have to start learning all this basic stuff like ohms law.

so what's the RMS on it and what speakers are going on it?

The RMS is 500 watts and i have it connected to 3 x Memphis 12in. But i plan on going with 10 just don't know what brand to go with. I don't want to spend no more than 500 for all the speakers
